Wall installation 3 x 8 Meter LEVIS STRAUSS

Levi's: The creation of a Denim-Dreamland-wall

Hello lovelies,

today I would like to tell you about a very special project that has really brought my creative streak to life. It's about the legendary brand Levis Strauss and an artful collaboration that took us deep into the world of denim..

It all started with a commission from Levis Strauss Germany, more specifically their headquarters in Offenbach - the Heyne Fabrik. The goal? A stunning wall installation that reflects the company's CI and embodies the spirit of the brand in every square centimetre. Sounds exciting, doesn't it?

First of all, ‘there was a white wall’

This wall was completely lined with wooden panels of different sizes to match the design, so that the finished work can be assembled and disassembled at a later date if necessary.

I received project support from my son Tanyel. Precision work on the hand-painted ‘Levi's two Horse Graphic’...…

So, let's get to work! When I saw the photo templates, I was immediately blown away. Levis Strauss' “Indigo Shooting Photos” were simply amazing! The combination of denim, brick, copper, posters, pictures and wood immediately inspired me to come up with some wild ideas.

What was on the programme? An area of around 25 square metres that was to be brought to life. That sounds like a lot of space for creativity, doesn't it? Exactly my thing!

The colour palette was clear: Levi's RAL blue tones, with a touch of copper to emphasise the rustic charm. Now it was time to get started!

The realisation technique? Mixed media! What does that mean exactly? Well, we didn't just want to slap a run-of-the-mill painting on the wall. No, we wanted an art installation that appeals to all the senses. So we used a combination of painting, collage and perhaps a pinch of magic.

But wait a minute, why so much effort for a wall? Well, my dears, for Levis Strauss, the wall is not just a wall. It's part of their identity, a reflection of their history and an expression of their passion for denim. And who wouldn't want to work in an office that looks like a denim dreamland?

Also, packen wir's an!

Mixed Media! Was heißt das genau?

A real challenge was the recognisability of the Levi Strauss denim portrait, which is over 2 metres tall. The Levi ‘himself’, created entirely from 501, ended up being the highlight of the 3D wall artwork.

The origins of Levis Strauss lie in San Francisco. I used real Levis jeans for the sea of jeans.

Framed photos from the Levis ‘Indigo’ shoot were placed on the wooden boards painted in the Levis RAL colours.

The bricks stand for the Heyne factory in which the Levis Germany headquarters are located.

So we threw ourselves into the project with enthusiasm. Day by day, our wall installation grew, and with each new layer we fell a little more in love with the result. It was like a dance between brushstrokes and glue, between colours and textures.

And you know what the best part was? Levis Strauss was just as enthusiastic about our work as we were! They loved the combination of tradition and modernity, rusticity and elegance. Our wall became the centrepiece of their office, the place where ideas were born and dreams were lived.

If you're curious now and would like to see Levis Strauss' artwork live, just take a look at their website: levis.com. Maybe you'll find a piece or two of denim dreamland that will make your heart beat faster!

So, my dears, that's it from me for today. I hope you had as much fun reading it as I did writing it! See you next time!
