First of all, a unique and a print differ primarily in that the unique is the hand-painted "unique piece", which is later used as the basis for the print conversion.
A unique or original painting is therefore a work that exists only once in the world.
The print is then based on the photo of the unique replica. This can then be reproduced either in an open edition (unlimited) or limited edition (limited to a certain number of pieces). The carrier material (paper, canvas, etc. is ultimately a matter of taste here).
Under certain circumstances, however, the print can also become its own original or "serial unique". (See canvas print hand-painted)
