The series “EPIC” reflects my longing for peace, which can easily get lost in everyday chaos. As a mother, artist, and human being in a world where everything seems to happen at once, I know how precious little timeouts are – and how rare they can be. With my large-format female portraits, full of bright colors and lots of white, I wanted to create a place that simply pulls the plug and allows us to hit “pause” for a moment.

These paintings are a haven of calm on canvas, almost meditative – but without incense sticks or singing bowls. While painting, I feel how the noise of life slowly fades away. And maybe, when looking at it, you’ll also find the perfect chance to escape the constant stream of news, deadlines, and to-dos for a moment.
